Your rug leaves the great room of a canal-front home, gets washed properly in our plant, and comes back the way the weaver meant it to look. Free pickup and delivery across Broward — you never fold a heavy rug into the trunk.
We pick the rug up, inspect it, and hand you the price before a single step of the work begins.

Why a rug shop, not a carpet truck
It comes up in nearly every Lighthouse Point living room we walk into. The tile is already being seen to, and the good rug anchoring the room seems like it could just ride along on the same visit.
The trouble is that wall-to-wall carpet and a hand-knotted rug ask for opposite treatment. Carpet is stretched and fixed down, built to be scrubbed where it lies. A fine rug is a loose textile — wool or silk pile tied to a cotton foundation, colored with dyes that were never meant to sit under a hot extraction wand.
Clean a good rug in place and three quiet problems follow: the gritty sand stays locked in the base, the dyes can start to creep, and the rug dries slowly on your floor. A few hundred feet from the Intracoastal, in our salt air and summer humidity, that slow uneven drying is exactly how browning and a musty edge take hold.
A rug that grounds an entire room has earned a proper bath, not a passing scrub.
So we do it the older, slower way in our own plant: measured, tested, dusted, washed with a natural pH shampoo, and speed-dried in a controlled room. Wool, silk, antique, Navajo, shag — the whole process is spelled out here.
And when a rug honestly doesn’t need the plant — a newer synthetic that’s safe to freshen where it lies — we’ll say so and save you the pickup.
Wool, silk & everything hand-knotted
Every fiber and dye reacts its own way — the exact reason we test before we wash. Whatever is on the list below moves through the same in-plant routine: measured, checked for pH and dye stability, deep-dusted, washed, and speed-dried in a controlled room that keeps our coastal humidity from settling in.
Hand-knotted Orientals are textiles, not carpet. They earn a full bath in the plant — not a hot wand dragged across them by the pool deck.
See the process →Older vegetable-dyed Persians can bleed. We towel-test each one for dye stability and change the wash for the pieces that need a gentler hand.
How we test →Wool is a protein fiber — the high-alkaline chemicals used on carpet leave it harsh and lifeless. Our shampoo stays in the pH range wool can take.
See the wash →Fine silks get gentler tools and a lighter touch in the wash, then the same controlled speed-dry that keeps their sheen and their colors sharp.
See the process →With an antique, the work leans more toward conservation than cleaning. If a full wash would set it back rather than help, we say so before you spend a cent.
Restoration too →Flatwoven and Navajo pieces get a dye test before a drop of water touches them, then a quick wash and fast dry that hold those bold colors right where the weaver set them, even in our coastal air.
See the process →Dusting matters most on shag — sand settles at the base of that long pile, and it has to be beaten out before the rug ever touches water.
Why dusting first →Custom-sized and one-off rugs are washed to match the way they were made — and once yours returns clean, we can cut a protective pad to its exact footprint for the tile floors common here.

We measure it, note the wear, the stains and any salt-air fading, plus any repairs it needs, then run the pH and dye-stability tests. The exact price reaches you before anything else moves forward.
Pounds of dry grit hide below the pile — and dock life in Lighthouse Point tracks in plenty of sand and salt. We beat and vacuum it out before the wash.
A complete wet wash in natural pH shampoo, tuned to the rug’s fiber and its dyes — a light touch on fine wool and silk, a determined one on the salt and ground-in soil a waterfront home works into the pile.
Into our temperature and humidity controlled drying room. Fast, even drying is what stops one color from bleeding into the next in coastal air.
Pile groomed, fringe combed straight, a final look-over — then it rides back to your door. Pickup and delivery stay free right across Broward County.
Pricing, the honest way
Size tells us little — two rugs of equal measure can need opposite treatment.
A machine-made 8×10 in good shape is a straightforward wash. The same size hand-knotted rug with unstable dyes, years of buried grit and salt worked in from the water is a different job entirely.
What drives the price: the measured size, the fiber and how it’s built, dye stability, how deep the soil and coastal salt run, any pet contamination, and whether the fringe or edges want repair.
So the inspection comes first and the quote follows — once, before any work starts.
The pre-inspection costs nothing, and the figure we quote when we collect the rug is the figure you pay. No coupons, no phone-quote guesswork, nothing lying in wait at delivery.
Done by hand, in-house
Wear we catch at inspection gets a straight recommendation: fix it, leave it, or — if the repair would cost more than the rug is worth — skip it. Every repair is done by hand, by us, and never shipped out. See the repair work →
Lighthouse Point’s rug plant since 2006
Call us and you’re talking to the same hands that will work on your rug — start to finish. Nothing gets subcontracted, and nothing gets shipped off to some out-of-town wholesaler you’ll never lay eyes on.
Most of our work comes from Lighthouse Point families we’ve looked after for years, and the neighbors they pass our name to.
No surprises
Measuring, a close inspection and the pH and dye tests all come first. Only then do you get the exact price, ahead of any work.
Your rug is washed under our own roof from first step to last — never farmed out, never sent off down the road.
Most rugs are back on the floor in roughly a week. If repairs stretch that out, you learn it at the inspection — never as a surprise on delivery day.
Pickup and delivery run free across all of Broward County. We phone once your rug is ready and pick a drop-off time that works for you.

Straight answers
We come to you — there is nothing to bring anywhere. Free pickup and delivery covers all of Lighthouse Point, from the canal streets around the Yacht Basin to Coral Key and Venetian Isles, plus neighboring Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach and Hillsboro Beach. We arrive at your door, roll and wrap the rug, and return it once every stage of the work is complete.
A knotted rug is a free-standing textile, not carpet stapled down. Scrubbed in place under a hot wand, it holds its grit, its dyes can bleed, and it dries slowly against your tile. Right on the water in Lighthouse Point, that trapped damp turns musty fast. It belongs flat in a wash pit, flushed until the rinse runs clear.
We test it before we wash it. Every rug gets a pre-inspection with a pH reading and a dye-stability check in a hidden corner, because some older vegetable-dyed pieces will run if they meet water carelessly. If yours is a bleed risk we adjust the method, and we show you exactly what we found before anything gets wet.
We set the price after we inspect, never before. Measured size, fiber, construction, dye stability, how deep the soil sits, salt from the coast, pet accidents and any repairs all change what a rug needs — a phone figure would only be a guess. When we collect it we examine it and give you the exact number before a single step begins.
Usually, yes. Urine dries into alkaline salts buried in the foundation, and blotting the surface never reaches them — so we submerge and flush the whole rug to dissolve them out. Old or repeated accidents can be stubborn, and we give you an honest read at inspection on what result is realistic before you commit to anything. More on pet odor removal.
Yes, and every repair is done by hand at our own shop, never shipped out. That covers fringe repair and replacement, side and edge overcasting, hole repair and reweaving, moth damage, dry rot, resizing and full restoration. If a repair would cost more than the rug is worth, we tell you plainly instead of selling you the work.
Most rugs are back in about a week. Washing is followed by controlled speed-drying in a temperature and humidity managed room, which is what keeps the colors from migrating in our coastal air — so we never rush it. Rugs that also need hand repairs take a little longer, and you get an honest timeline at the inspection.
Free pre-inspection, zero pressure
